Read the 2018 BrookLynk Programming Evaluation Report

In 2018 BrookLynk transitioned from operating at the Brooklyn Bridge Alliance for Youth to being co-operated by the Cities of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park. There were also new programming elements added to the BrookLynk design to ensure more young people had access to skill development and employment opportunities. Get Ready! and Summer Internships


Young people in BrookLynk earned over $250,000 in wages throughout their internships. The median wages earned by BrookLynk interns was $2,448.


268 young people successfully completed Get Ready! training at Hennepin Technical College during the spring. Learn more about Get Ready! here.


Through the investment of 14 local employers, 102 young people were hired as BrookLynk interns across Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park and surrounding communities

Job Fair and Job Board


174 youth job seekers attended the 2018 BrookLynk Youth Job Fair hosted at North Hennepin Community College.


Employers were provided on-site interview space and conducted 95 interviews with candidates. 42 job offers were made on-site.


27 local employers actively hiring young people, ranging from parks and rec, food service, and retail, participated. 4 service organizations also participated.

BrookLynk Alumni


138 BrookLynk Alumni are actively participating in the alumni network by joining online groups, attending sponsored events, and giving back to BrookLynk through volunteerism


In the yearly BrookLynk Alumni survey, (responded by 78 alum) it was reported that 100% of alumni had graduated from high school.


Of those alumni that responded to the survey and had graduated high school, 94% were also attending post-secondary. BrookLynk alumni attend a diverse range of schools.
