Youth who complete the Get Ready! training who are between the ages of 14-15 will have the opportunity to take part in the program. Each week a different topic is covered to help youth explore careers, create or update a resume, know how to land a job, and cover financial literacy topics.
Eligibility
Have completed Get Ready!
Be 14-15 years of age;
Live and/or attend school in Brooklyn Park or Brooklyn Center
Face Some Barrier to employment:
Eligible for free or reduced lunch at school
Has IEP or physical, mental, learning, emotional, or behavioral disability
Pregnant or parenting youth
Is or will be the first person in immediate family to receive a high school diploma
Is or will be the first person in immediate family to attend college
I s an immigrant or child of immigrants
Is currently taking ELL classes
Has experienced homelessness or stayed in temporary housing in the last 6 months
Has received or am currently receiving foster care services
Has been involved with the juvenile just system
Dropped out of high school before receiving a diploma or GED, or am attending an Alternative Learning Center
